As Valentine’s Day approaches, are you looking for Valentine’s Day Children’s Books? This book list is the perfect guide to children’s books about love.
These are children’s books we love about love in our home that we enjoy throughout the year! I absolutely love reading with my boys. Reading is often one of the few calm moments of our days. These Valentine’s Day children’s books are sweet stories that sometimes provide just the comfort we need, especially on those tough days. We all enjoy the sweet messages and the reassurance that we share unconditional love. In this list of books, you will find books that work throughout the year about friendship, family, love, and there are also some holiday titles.
Some titles you may be interested in purchasing to broaden your home library but you may also want to check your local library to see if they have some of these titles available. I love to add seasonal books to our personal collection but I fill in the gaps by borrowing books at the library as well for the boys to enjoy.
QUICK LIBRARY TIP:
Did you know that most libraries offer the opportunity to reserve books online? Head over to your local library site and look for an online catalog. What does this mean for you? A stress-free trip with the kids. You simply go to check out and they’ve got all your requested titles rounded up for you if you reserve them ahead of time!

This list is certain to get you started for reading when it comes to books about love. The month of February and Valentine’s Day are not the only days to read about love. There really is no wrong time during the year to share many of these books with your children.
We have some of these in our personal home library and some of them were staples in my classroom when teaching. There are books for young ones and for school-aged children included.
Some of the above titles include favorite characters that you may remember from your childhood such as Happy Valentine’s Day Little Critter or Happy Valentine’s Day Curious George! I always have a soft spot for reading books that bring back my childhood. There are also titles that include characters that are more relevant to our children today such as I Love Pete the Kitty. My son LOVES Pete the Cat books so I’m definitely adding that title to his Valentine’s Day gift. The Kissing Hand is a children’s classic and I kept this story in my classroom library. It’s also the perfect choice when facing separation anxiety issues with kiddos heading off to school. A beautiful story that has touched the lives of millions of children and their parents
As mamas, I think we all want to shower our littles with love and we hope, in turn, they will share their love with the world. I’d love to know if you or your children have any favorite Valentine’s Day books or books about love titles! Please share in the comments below.
