As everyone is getting their homes all glammed up for the holidays, we are looking at bare walls and boxes! ;) We moved in three weeks ago and we have enough unpacked and decorated that we are comfortable and it’s feeling more like home!
I am pretty excited about moving into our new house, the one we hope will be our forever home. As this year comes to a close, we feel blessed beyond measure to already be feeling like we absolutely made the right choice for our family. We love our new town and our new home.
The boys have shown they are more and more comfortable as the weeks have passed. In the first weeks, they would only go where I would go in the home. Now, they run around like they own the place.
This is my favorite room of the house – the morning room which is directly off of the kitchen! Look at all of these windows! I can truly appreciate the natural light!
Here’s a peek at our kitchen. We selected Toasted Almond cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a granite counter top.
Here’s a peek at the master bathroom. There is an accent tile surrounding the soaking tub and the shower. We have separate vanities that are separated by the tub.
The master bedroom closets are pretty amazing! We have so much space!
And this is the upstairs guest bathroom that will be shared by guests and the boys.
So there’s a sneak peek inside our home!
We have big dreams for our future plans in this home but we know we have years to tackle one project at a time and then we can budget accordingly.
What’s on our immediate house agenda?
- Ceiling fans and light fixtures – we officially crossed this off the list this week. We purchased the fixtures and my dad was our hero for hanging them all!
- Window treatments – we need to get at least the front windows of the house covered and a window in the master bathroom since we will have neighbors eventually.
- Finish unpacking
Our distant but not too distant plans?
- We would love, love a deck by summer
- A fence for our yard
- Finish the basement
- Paint
- Home furnishings – we have a lot of empty space since we moved from a much smaller home but we will take our time and tackle one space at a time. :)
When you move into an existing home or new construction, there are often times many things to do. It can seem overwhelming at first so I’ll be sharing about our journey and how we prioritize our list of things to do.
Thank you so much for joining us on our family home journey. It means more to me than you’ll ever know. If you’d like to read past posts about our family move click the links below:
