Are you looking into ABCmouse but want to research and read a real ABCmouse review to know is ABCmouse worth it? Well, I wanted to share my thoughts ABCmouse.com® Early Learning Academy as so many of our readers have young kids and some have asked me if I have ever tried the program.
We all want the very best for our kiddos and starting them on the right educational path begins early. I realized just how high the expectations were starting in kindergarten when I was teaching in an elementary school. With that said, sending my child off to school is just around the corner and it’s important to me that my boys have confidence in the classroom and healthy learning routines at home that will hopefully transfer to the classroom.
My boys are two and four-years-old and they do not go to traditional preschool this year. I try to carve out time in our day for early learning and it’s important to me to make learning an active part of our days. Of course, early learning crosses so many domains from fine motor development to early learning concepts, to social skills, and gross motor skills and there are so many ways to practice these skills!
As part of our weekly activities, we select a letter of the week and then integrate activities around the letter. I noticed my oldest son just wasn’t retaining the letter names and sounds as we moved week to week which is completely fine since developmentally he is still young but I thought trying another avenue may just spark his interest. That’s when I decided to take the plunge to try ABCmouse.
ABCMOUSE REVIEW UPDATE
My boys are now 5 and 7 years old. Due to the circumstances, many of us are finding ourselves unexpectedly homeschooling. I wanted to confirm that I still find ABCmouse beneficial. We will also be using the ABCmouse app to supplement our learning at home while schools are closed. I still find value in ABCmouse and I appreciate that it gives my children a break from me and me a break from them while they can still be practicing reading skills. I appreciate the fact that you can try the app before purchase to see how your child responds. I’m including two recent offers that are definitely worth looking into. You can sign up for 30 days free and another awesome deal is the 1-year subscription for $45.
I will also be sharing other homeschool resources weekly here if you want to subscribe to my free email list and on Instagram stories. Please reach out with any questions and ways I can help as a teacher to make this transition more manageable for you.

IS ABCMOUSE WORTH IT?
Since each of my boys has access to an iPad, it was important to me that ABCmouse be available as an app. Surprisingly, you can access ABCmouse from ANY device because they have apps available for iPhone, Android, Kindle, and desktop (through the internet).
My children don’t have to wait for a turn. They can each choose different learning activities on their tablets while seated side by side. They were both able to take the assessments and then activities were assigned at their independent levels.
Truthfully, I primarily joined for my 4-year-old use the tool, but since the $7.95 monthly fee allows up to three kids, I figured it didn’t hurt to make an account for my almost 3-year-old. I just let him start using it a couple of weeks ago, so he hasn’t had a lot of time yet, but what amazes me is that he is engaged and learning!

REVISITING THE QUESTION, IS ABCMOUSE WORTH IT?
I definitely think it is worth a try. If you can get the free trial or a sale price for your subscription since they run multiple sales throughout the year, then why not give it a try? I incorporate learning into our day with both of my sons at home but some days go better than others. This is a great tool to access learning materials at home on each child’s level. So, I think it’s worth trying if your child seems unmotivated or needs extra practice.
