Behind the Blog with Toddler E

Hey friends! Just wanted to pop by with our memorable start to the week! Toddler E started preschool on Monday! It truly is a bittersweet feeling to have our little one spread his wings and make us so proud in one breath of air and yet take our breath away in another because we want to hold on to every moment of him growing up.

Preschool Memories

Toddler E will be 3 years old in October which is that borderline birthday month where he will be almost 6 when he starts kindergarten so preschool was definitely optional. My husband and I really gave it some thought about having him start this year but we truly felt this was something that he would absolutely enjoy and preschool would be a place where he would flourish.

His preschool class meets Monday and Wednesday mornings so this is a perfect start for Toddler E to transition to a more formal setting for play and learning. It’s a Christian preschool so the focus is on nourishing both the spirit and mind which makes my heart happy.

Of course, we took a few first day of school pictures. Another way I captured memories for the start of this memorable year was asking him a few questions. I think this is a fun way to capture how they will grow throughout the year. This was an inexpensive picture frame from IKEA and now it’s a memory keeper.

He came home after his first day happy and excited about returning again. He brought mommy and daddy home a surprise that definitely made his proud momma cry.

Handprints and Poem
I LOVE handprints. His teachers really touched my heart by creating a keepsake for this memorable occasion. This children’s poem is very sweet: Here are my hands with ten fingers in all. My first mark in school to hang on the wall. As years go by, I’ll remember and say, “My hands and I had a very good day.”[tweetthis hidden_hashtags=”#learning #quote”]As years go by, I’ll remember and say “My hands and I had a very good day!” [/tweetthis]

Thank you for stopping by! It is so crazy when I use to see 3 year olds how big I thought they were and now my oldest is almost 3 and I just can’t stop thinking, he’s still my baby. ;)
