Soon after Eli started preschool, he started singing words when we went to pray. I knew it must be something he learned at school. After I went to a few of his preschool events, I learned the prayer he was trying to sing and we started practicing at home.
Well, I’m so excited to share my little cuties through video with you today as they share a children’s mealtime prayer. So Eli started saying his prayer at home and now Little E has even started to fold his hands and hum along. Below in the video you might notice, that Little E actually starts clapping *probably because this was about the third time I had them say the prayer and he was ready for the dance off at that point*!
But anyways, I hope you enjoy this simple little tradition in our family. We begin with saying “Prayer rockets up, zoom them down” which is the verbal cue to fold their hands.
A Children’s Mealtime Prayer
(Sung to the tune of Where is Thumbkin)
God our Father, God our Father
We thank You, we thank You
For our many blessings, for our many blessings
Thanks for letting me share my little loves with you today!
Do you have a favorite children’s prayer that’s used in your family?
