H E L L O Lovelies – thanks for popping by to catch up! I love taking a few minutes to share a few snapshots of my personal life. This week I’m sharing what family time looks like for us.
Does it almost give you a heart attack just reading the title? Shew…yes, I said 5 kids ages 3 and under. So the exact ages are 3.5 years, 3 years, 2.5 years, 14 months, and 9 months and did I mention they are all BOYS?!
Now that I have your attention.
These 5 boys are not all mine. Actually, just two of them are mine – the 3 year-old and 14 month-old. The 3.5 year-old, 2.5 year-old, and 9 month-old are my nephews belonging to my sister-in-law and my brother.
So I mentioned how family time is invaluable to me. Well, what I didn’t say was family time is a relaxing, calm time. Actually, when we get together with family, it’s a time when meals are half eaten, glasses of wine are never finished, messes are made, and chairs are rarely needed. We go home more exhausted than we were before arriving.
These five boys keep us jumping. When they get together they love to play, explore, and create chaos. When we leave, we’ve been told we come in like a tornado and leave like one too!
Although, when the 5 boys are together it is faaaar from relaxing – these moments in time create long-lasting memories.
We recently went to Williamsburg, Virginia to ring in the New Year. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with my brother, sister-in-law, and the 5 boys for a night. The boys explored Bass Pro Shop together, swam together, and created a stir while getting on the elevator together.
One thing is for sure, they may create a loud rumble as they roll through but they also create happiness.
These moments in time may be exhausting but they will be missed more than I can even imagine.
