Happy Fri-YAY, Lovelies! It’s crazy, I usually get excited for Friday just because everyone else seems to have a little pep in their step. For us, Fridays are kinda just another day because my hubby works on Saturday so it leaves me to attend lots of weekend happenings as our little trio – me and my two boys. But, we still have fun and soak up the time together. Nonetheless, today I’m sharing 5 highlights from our week!
one. I’m feeling this quote lately. Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons! I mean, because why not?! It’s ok to just be me and it’s ok to just be you. I love individuality and it drives me bonkers when there is so much competition in today’s world!
two. Big news, guys! I went to the hair salon and finally got a much-needed haircut and highlights. I love my hair salon and it’s honestly, quite the treat when I make time to go. It’s one of those guilty pleasures these days so I wait and wait. But, you know it’s serious when hubby comments about your gray patch that usually blends in your blonde head of hair! Excuse the terrible quality of my selfie that I wasn’t planning on sharing!
three. We spent part of a day with grandpa and grandma and the cousins. Reminded me of how simple pleasures can be so perfect for kiddos. These 5 boys went to see “grandpa’s garden” and ended up playing in the dirt for a loooong time. Seriously, nothing but a big ‘ole empty dirt garden (for now). It was the perfect follow-up to our at home sensory garden we’ve been enjoying.
four. And then there’s always the real life moments that happen, you know the art projects that start out pretty normal and then within a matter of minutes you start asking yourself “am I documenting a crime scene?” Happens to everyone, right? *gasp!*
five. Tried a super easy pineapple angel food cake recipe this week and it was just the perfect sweet tooth pleaser to have around. I didn’t feel guilty with a piece of pineapple cake with light cool whip topping. The recipe is as simple as 1 box of angel food cake mix, 1 can of crushed pineapple, mix the cake and pineapple with the juice, put in a 13 x 9 pan, and bake for 30 minutes. Top with a light cool whip! Yummy!
Love this post! So happy you got your hair did! LOL!!! Also really feeling that quote. Happy Friday Erin, have a beautiful weekend with your gorgeous little dudes.

Your hair look great! I just had mine done last week and it does make you feel so much better! This weekend is crazy for me because I’m in a play and we open tonight and have performances all weekend – it should be fun but I’m a little nervous too!
Awww thanks, Becky! A hair appt leaves me refreshed and feeling semi-normal again :) haha! I hope your performances went welL!
It sounds like you had a terrific week! Love the idea of gardening with your little ones … I know they enjoyed that! Your pineapple angel food cake also sounds delicious! Hope you have a great weekend! – Trish
Awww thank you! It has been a lot of fun to get outside and explore gardening! Have a great weekend!
That recipe sounds amazing! I literally only go to the hair salon once a year or so, but it’s always a treat when I do, and I always feel pampered! Mostly because I always choose a hair salon where a head massage is a standard with a shampoo :)
I can tell you are such a good mommy!! We have that exact same ikea sleeve bib! Lifesaver!
