It seems like forever ago that I just casually chatted with you and joined in on a Five on Friday. Today, I’m going to share five of my favorite photo sessions. Well, you know a mama just loves to show off her babes every now and again.
It seems like so much has happened lately. We’ve celebrated family birthdays, Eli had his last day of preschool this week, and we are about to jump into Memorial Day weekend and kick off this summer right. I’m feeling all emotional lately just realizing that my little guys have grown so much even just over the last 6 months. Do you ever scroll back through photos and it just hits you that their little faces have changed and they’ve gotten taller right before your eyes and you can’t believe it?
That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling. This motherhood journey is an emotional roller coaster. I mean just this week I’m all sappy because they’re growing too quickly and the next day I’m taking an extra long car ride to the store and practicing deep breathing because it’s been one of those days and the extra minutes in the car were the most relaxing moments of the day.
So here’s a little about life lately….
one. Time with Cousins.
If you’ve been hanging around the blog for some time, you might know that I have two boys who are 3.5 and 1.5 years old. Well, they are lucky enough to have three boy cousins who just turned 4, 3, and 1 years old! So when we get together, I’m sure you can imagine it’s one wild ride. I mean you might as well add my hubby and brother to the list of boys because they sure join right in on the antics. :)
Side note: Those blue and white striped polos are straight from Italy and they say gondola boy….awww just too adorable! Their grandma and grandpa brought them back and we popped them right on for a photo.
two. Time with Daddy.
It’s not too often this handsome man pops up on here but that’s my hubby with the boys. He’s such a loving dad who works hard for us and loooves to play with his boys…wrestling matches and dance-offs are a pretty common occurrence around here.
three. Brotherly Love.
I will never get tired of capturing the gentle moments between these two. They are two rough and tumble boys and our journey with two didn’t start off easily but we see more and more the bond between them and there’s not much that could make my heart happier. If you follow on Instagram, then you’ll see I love to share off these two and their brotherly love.
four. Last Day of Preschool.
Eli has a late birthday so he will return to preschool next year. This year was a very part-time Christian preschool program but it gave him some socialization time with kiddos his age. We started the year with some concerns about how constant high energy and aggressive nature (here’s a look back at the beginning of preschool). With lots of love, deep breaths, and positive parenting approaches we’ve definitely seen how he’s blossomed and learned along the way.
Those are the pretty normal Eli faces that happen when I try to take a photo! It just takes some gentle
asking bribing to get a happy face.
five. Happy Memorial Day!
We hope the weekend is filled with fun and a bit of time for reflection. Holiday weekends are exciting but we will remember why we celebrate and we are truly grateful to the military who protect us and to those who have given their lives along the way.
Be sure to follow on Facebook to hear Eli sing a little song on Monday in celebration of Memorial Day! :)
So I could do all the talking but what I’d love is to hear from you! Drop a comment below with what you are up to this weekend! Happy Weekend to you!
