Shew, it’s sure nice to see Friday this week. This has been the week after Snowmageddon (something like 26 inches of snow) hitting the D.C. region! Yikes! We are all dug out and the streets are actually pretty clear but I’ve spent 5 looong days at home with the boys inside except for the “must see light and breathe fresh air” moments when we bundled up for the trek outdoors.
So here’s my Five on Friday this week.
one. Walks in the snow. So anyone with kiddos understands the need for fresh air every once in a while. Usually, we are off to preschool a couple of mornings a week or out the door to run errands but schools have been closed all week and my hubby had my vehicle so we were pretty much stuck. After naps we would get bundled up for a walk outside (since we don’t have a backyard) and off we’d go.
two. Little E had his 15-month-old well care checkup. If you follow on IG you may have seen his little pic (@lovesimplybeauty). It’s not easy to capture his smile in a photo, he sees my camera and turns away…little stinker. He handled his vaccines with a few tears but then he bounced right back. Crazy how much I enjoyed just spending a little quality time with him while big brother was at home with daddy even if it was for a quick check up.
three. Cupcakes! They make everything better, right?! We haven’t had too many sweet treats around (because I’d eat them if we did) but I made the boys a little treat and they greatly enjoyed it! Showed my husband the photos of the boys digging in when he got home and he just wanted to know if I actually sat them together, that close to the wall, with chocolate cupcakes, and if they got any on the wall. Hey guys, I’m starting to think he doesn’t trust this momma in charge. I mean there wasn’t THAT much chocolate smeared on the walls…just kidding!
four. This is a sweet book I wanted to share. I keep a tub of books that are just holiday/themed focused so I can bring them out for a short while. This is perfect for Valentine’s Day.
five. And last but not least, we enjoyed some family time on Thursday since my husband was off. The kids woke up from their naps and my husband decided the boys needed a chance to run off some energy (I’m telling you, this cold weather stuff is tough with our boys!) so where else do we go but the local Toys R Us! lol! The boys had fun making their rounds and then we went home to enjoy a delish dinner. Hubby has been craving Fettuccine Alfredo so we gave this sauce a whirl and it was pretty good!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Do you have any fun plans?
