My 3-year-old was the foam egg painter in our house so the details are far from precise but that’s what makes them just so perfect to me (mommy’s heart melts with any toddler artwork)! I think older children or even adults would enjoy painting these with a variety of patterns to use for a colorful decoration. This is how we painted foam Easter eggs and how we are using them for our spring decor until Easter.
PAINTED FOAM EASTER EGGS
Plastic Sandwich Bags (optional)
I picked up a bag of these foam eggs from the dollar section at Target and they were actually just $1. Super cheap for a dozen of these little cuties.
I put a dab of different colored paints on a paper plate and let my toddler get creative. He painted with a brush for a pretty long time.
And then, when he was tired of brush painting, he rolled the eggs around in the paint.
And then, I thought it might even work to put a dab of paint in a sandwich bag and swirl it around. The sandwich bag approach was the least messy and would be the “easiest” for even younger hands to do.
Ideas for Painted Easter Egg Decor
This was our final batch of painted foam eggs displayed on a small wooden tray that I also picked up from the Target dollar spot, I think it was a $3 item.
And this is the way we ultimately decided to display them, in this cute glass jar that is now nestled on our kitchen table for the season with my little man’s handiwork.

This was just a quick project to keep my little guy entertained for a little bit and he really enjoys sharing his hard work with anyone that comes by for a visit. He even gifted a couple of his eggs to his fave family members.
