HELLO lovelies! Welcome to a tour of my restful retreat, my serene master bedroom.
I think everyone should have a space that they LOVE and our master bedroom is that place for me! A master bedroom should be a relaxing, comfortable space. I chose a neutral color scheme with teal accents to create a calming room. I’m excited to share some of my bedroom decor with you.
These are picture frames that are usually on top of an armour in our room. Yes, I know I should absolutely get a picture in these frames (I mean it’s not like I’ve had these frames for about 4 years)! These are from Pier 1 and I loved the uniqueness and details of the frames and they blended well with my color scheme.
This is an armchair that I waited a long time to purchase to add to our serene decor but finally found a chair I loved and it’s a rocker. It has provided comfort many nights with our small babies.
These are 2-drawer nightstands on each side of the bed – we can never have enough drawers! The wooden vase is a hand-made vase we brought home from a vacation in Jamaica. I love that we were able to bring home a usable keepsake that reminds us of a memorable vacation. I love the simplicity, yet warm feel these accent pieces create.
This is probably one of my favorite framed pictures in our house. I just love the colors and the two blue birds. It was an inexpensive find from Hobby Lobby and I wasn’t quite sure if it would work in our room but it is on a wall just inside the bedroom across from the bathroom. You just know it’s a perfect touch if you can look at it and feel happiness.
This is a simple candle centerpiece on top of the big dresser in our room. This is another piece I purchased from Pier 1 years ago and yet, I still love it!
I always like to keep it real with my posts and as many readers know, we do have two small boys. So the reality is that I do try to keep our master bedroom as “our” serene space in the house but it is inevitable that my little ones drag a random assortment of toys in almost every day. For these photos to happen, it did require a long over due dusting and the shuffling of some folded laundry. More often than not the comforter and throw pillows are not actually on the bed because they become tents or hurdles for my toddler. Yes, that’s a yoga ball and exersaucer in our serene master bedroom. This is the real mom-life! :)
Where is your serene space in your house? How do you create a peaceful retreat?
