How to Make the Kebabs
- Clean the fruit. It’s best to wash and let your fruit dry before it’s time to assemble.
- Cut the fruit. Cut any fruit into smaller segments or peel the oranges. I sliced the strawberries in half. Diced up a banana. I also cut slices of pineapple and used the spring cookie cutters to cut the rabbit, butterfly, and flower-shaped pineapple for the top of the skewers.
- Now, skewer the fruit onto the stick.
- Arranage the skewers on a tray.
Tips for Making the Fruit Kebabs
Can fruit kebabs be made the night before?
You can make fruit kabobs the night before you plan to serve them. To keep fruit kabobs fresh overnight, spray them with lemon juice to prevent them from browning and losing their consistency. Also, choose fruits carefully, I wouldn’t recommend banana or apples for instance if preparing ahead of time.
What fruit is good for cutting shapes?
Most melons are good for using cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Cantalope, honeydew melon, watermelon and pineapple work well for cutting shapes.
