Happy FALL to You! It’s time for another Take One, Leave One, a series to reflect on the week and celebrate the take one moments and have closure for the leave one moments! I am welcoming fall with open arms even though I’m left wondering where did summer go? I LOVE everything about fall EXCEPT it means that winter is on the way!
This week, I have to say my leave one moments (the negatives in a week) came SO easily and I had to reflect a bit to come up with my take one moments (the positives in a week). But, that is exactly why I love this series because what’s more important – to remember the positives or the negatives? Exactly! Of course the positives are the memories that we want to hold on to and this series forces me to reflect and put things in to perspective. So here it goes….
My mom watched Baby E while Toddler E was in preschool and I had an opportunity to go shopping ALONE. We are leaving for vacation next week and I had some last-minute things I needed to do like find a white shirt for me and the boys for a photo shoot we are doing at the beach (more of that to come when we get back). What was I thinking – I probably should’ve hit the stores before all the fall stuff came out! I was also able to treat myself to my first Starbucks PSL while walking around Target – I mean how awesome is that?!
Toddler E got an excellent report from his preschool teacher, so after I picked him up we celebrated with a mommy/son lunch date and went to a nearby store to pick out a new backpack! These were my take one moments this week, the moments I could take more of and the moments I want to remember.
As I said before, the leave one moments came easily. Both boys started with a cold at the end of last week and it continued in to this week. Life is busy as it is with these two little ones and then you add the goopy noses, restless nights of sleep, and crankiness – every day has been like groundhog day.
The glamorous life of wrestling Baby E to suction and saline his nose. Then, chase Toddler E to blow his nose before his swipes it across anything (like my pants or shirt) that crosses his path! Toddler E really just had the runny nose which is still not fun as I chased his boogers all day but Baby E had the goop move in to his chest so he’s had the cough and up every hour at night (literally!).
The positive side to this is that the doctor checked Baby E out and said his lungs are clear and it’s just a virus and he should be improving soon – it’s just miserable for babies as they feel the pressure and goop just sit in their noses and chests. The bright side is we’ve taken a few more outside walks where Baby E is most happy and I’ve snuck in a few more snuggles than usual. Let’s just say the leave one moment is to happily leave this virus behind!
What were your take one, leave one moments this week?
