It’s pretty common at the beginning of the year to get excited about health goals and of course there are unavoidable obstacles like stress and busy schedules that continually affect us. I really think of health and wellness as a lifestyle, not as a quick fix. Living a healthy life is important and has been important to me for a long time. I’ve been through the trenches as a mother when I’ve given so much that I’ve absolutely exhausted myself mentally and physically. Choosing a healthy lifestyle is not always easy and I’m faaaar from perfect but I wanted to share tips to boost your everyday healthy habits.
I consider exercise to be an important part of feeling my healthiest but I use the terminology to get moving purposefully over exercise for a couple of reasons. Yes, I exercise but honestly, I lack the confidence to say “yes, I exercise!” because I don’t have a perfectly physically fit body. So my best tip is to get moving in a way that works for your schedule and your lifestyle. I’m fulfilling my goal to get moving now with a 30-minute high-intensity workout at home about 5 mornings a week. This works with my lifestyle since I was finding it nearly impossible to get out the door to the gym with the interrupted sleep at nights and my husband’s work schedule.
Now that the temperature is starting to warm up, I also try to incorporate outside walks with my boys. I find walks with the boys are not a “perfect” way to exercise. Often times, my toddler wants to walk or ride his bike and I push my little one in the stroller. We stop (frequently) to pick up rocks and flowers along the way so it’s far from a high cardio routine. So, I take my own advice and I feel healthier by just putting my body in motion! Whether you park your car further away from your destination (hey, it saves those door dings too!) or you take the stairs, boost your movement in a day!
Healthy eating is important to a healthy everyday life but I’m a realist – I’m far from perfect in this area. I do my best to eat healthy but processed foods or occasional eating out are still part of my lifestyle. And boy oh boy does my sweet tooth win every now and again (ok maybe every day)! I try to remember, it’s moderation. I’m mindful of calories, if I know I will splurge at dinner, then I try for a light breakfast and a meal replacement smoothie at lunch. I keep fruits and veggies cleaned and prepped in the fridge for healthy snacks. And, I absolutely know there are gaps in my nutritional needs so I take vitamins.
To fulfill my nutritional needs and to do my best to live a healthy, energetic lifestyle, I take vitamins. With my little shopping helpers in tow, we head to Walmart to pick up our Nature Made vitamins, minerals, and supplements at an everyday low price. I’m confident in my selection because Nature Made is the nation’s #1 best-selling brand for quality vitamins, minerals and supplements* to help support nutritional gaps. Nature Made is also the #1 Pharmacist recommended supplement brand in 9 categories.**
We left with the Nature Made Multi Complete and the VitaMelts Energy Vitamin B12 Tablets. I take one multivitamin every morning and the vitamin B12 can be taken up to 2 times per day. I usually take my B12 mid morning or mid afternoon and I love that it’s a berry tasting quick dissolve tablet!

Water is almost always my drink of choice. The bigger problem for me is taking the time to hydrate. I’ve attempted to overcome this obstacle by keeping a post-it note on the fridge and I jot a tally when I refill my water bottle. Water bottles are kinda my obsession, actually it’s a running joke in our house because my hubby just doesn’t get it. But, get a cute, practical water bottle and keep it with you. Also, drink a glass of water before sitting for a meal. I keep sliced lemons or limes in the fridge to add a zing to my water every now and again!
Here we have the tips to boost your everyday healthy habits!
Be authentic. Be healthy. Be true. Be you.
