Just wanted to pop in to share a little life lately update! I was absent from the blog last week since we finally took our summer vacation in the middle of September! ;) We spent the week in Corolla, North Carolina which is also known as the Outer Banks. We rented a soundfront vacation home that had the most stunning views of the sunset.
So who on earth goes on vacation with 5 boys? We do! *Hip, hip hooray! We signed up for one crazy vacay* ;) This was a rare treat since we were lucky enough to have some amazing family along with us.
Unbelievably, we were able to coordinate our schedules so that we could all rent a vacation home. It was my brother, his wife, my nephews (ages 1, 3, and 4), my mother and step-father, my younger brother, myself, hubs, and our boys (ages 1, 3)! The house was in the most tranquil setting BUT let me assure you, with five boys ages 4 and under it was the perfect blend of tranquility and chaos! But, still a phenomenal time.
Corolla is such a neat family town that doesn’t have the traditional “busy” feeling of many beaches and boardwalks. Especially at the time of year we went, it definitely had that family feel. We enjoyed the amenities of the home such as the pier, kayaks, and private swimming pool. We spent a few days chasing toddlers down the beach and jumping waves and then lounging poolside.
There wasn’t much depth to our adult conversation as we all scurried around taking care of the kiddos but there were so many memories made. The older cousins enjoyed hanging out with each other as they climbed up and down the bunk bed ladders and giggled their way through meals. And is there anything cuter than five handsome little dudes enjoying life?
Once the boys were in bed, my brother, his wife, my hubs and I stayed up too late lounging by the hot tub, enjoying the soundfront view, and guiltily ordering late-night pizza. And then, as parenthood life would have it – jumping up to our little alarm clocks at 6:15 every morning. Seriously though, lots of fun and just the break we needed from the real-life grind.
We shared many laughs and snapped way too many photos but we realized that these small moments would become tomorrow’s memories. It really is a gift to watch these boys grow and truly special to see how cousins really are best friends.
Do you have a favorite annual family vacation spot?
Your vacation looks so fun. Corolla looks peaceful! I have yet to go in vacation with all my babies since the last was born, but I’m just so scared. Lol! I want to be able to have them all at least walking. Maybe next year. Beautiful photos of your family!
Thanks, Dominique! I’m pretty sure we came home from vacation more exhausted than before we left but it was a great time. I always love when my hubby is home, such a break for me! :)
Great photography–love the photos! Great place to vacation for sure.
